The ministry said in a statement on Monday that the conference, which is held every two years, examines the follow-up to the implementation of the United Nations Convention by member states, following the launch of the convention’s implementation review process under a decision of the conference at its tenth session.
It added that the session, which concludes its work on the 23rd of this month, will present and discuss a number of draft resolutions to be issued by the conference, including the establishment of a drafting committee to prepare an additional protocol to the convention on crimes against the environment.
