Kuwait officials, including Engineer Fatima Jawhar Hayat, spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity and Water, told KUNA that the ministry continues to develop the national awareness system for conserving water and energy by expanding cooperation with government entities, the private sector, educational institutions, and public benefit associations, thereby enhancing consumption efficiency and supporting the state’s efforts to manage its vital resources.

Hayat stated that the ministry’s participation in the “Qatrat Watan” (A Drop of the Nation) campaign builds on the positive results achieved by the national campaign for conserving energy and water, “Wafir,” which helped raise public awareness and support the ministry’s efforts to address the surge in electricity and water demand during the summer season.

For her part, Assistant Undersecretary for Social Care and Development at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Iman Al-Anzi, said in a similar statement that the ministry places great emphasis on strengthening the role of civil society organizations in addressing social and developmental issues by supporting grassroots and charitable initiatives that serve the community and reinforce positive values.

She noted that “Qatrat Watan” reflects the ability of charitable associations to expand their community work to include awareness-raising on environmental issues and the preservation of natural resources, alongside their humanitarian and charitable roles, thereby enhancing their contribution to achieving sustainable development goals.

For his part, Najeel Al-Othman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the association, told KUNA that water security represents one of the fundamental pillars of stability and development in the country, given the limited natural water resources, rising consumption rates, urban expansion, and population growth.
