Amid the heavy losses it is suffering on the front lines and the escalating military pressure it faces as part of the “Yemen Dawn” operation, the Houthi militia has once again resorted to further acts of terrorism, committing a new massacre in Shabwa Governorate that adds to its extensive record of violations and crimes.
The militia targeted the Ahmed Al-Sulaimani Center for training new recruits of the Internal Security Forces in Shabwa Governorate with three ballistic missiles, killing 53 recruits and injuring more than 200 others. The legitimate government described the attack as reflecting the Houthis’ pattern of resorting to terrorist operations whenever they come under pressure and their plans falter, characterizing the Houthi assault as a “war crime” and noting that it demonstrates that “this terrorist militia engages in killing for the sake of killing.”
In a related development, the Egyptian Parliament adjourned its general session dedicated to discussing President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s request to vote on supporting Egypt’s backing of Saudi Arabia’s security, with plans to resume its deliberations on Monday, October 26.
Earlier, the Egyptian National Defense Council, during a meeting last Sunday chaired by President el-Sisi and attended by the speakers of the Parliament and the Council of Ministers and the commanders of the armed forces, decided to provide all necessary and possible forms of support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to defend its security and stability, safeguard its resources, and protect its territorial integrity and Islamic holy sites.
