Kuwait will face Egypt at 6:45 p.m. tomorrow Tuesday at the Saud bin Abdulrahman Stadium, in the second round of Group 2 of the Gulf Cup for U-17 national teams, held in Qatar.
This will be the first match for the “Blue Juniors” in the tournament, after they sat out the opening round due to the group’s five-team format. The “Pharaohs,” who are participating by special invitation like the Chinese team in Group 1, enter the competition with three points after a convincing 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia.
In the same group, Saudi Arabia and Yemen will play each other at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium at 9:00 p.m. Yemen opened their campaign with a 2-0 win over Iraq.
The “Blue Juniors,” coached by Brazilian manager Cayo Zanardi, underwent an intensive preparation period last summer, which included a training camp in the Netherlands where they played numerous friendly matches.
The youth national team also faces another challenge: the Asian Cup qualifiers (Uzbekistan 2027), scheduled to take place in Muscat from November 8 to 20. They will be placed in Group 7 alongside hosts Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, and Brunei.
