In the presence of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the French President, Emmanuel Macron, as well as His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, agreements were signed at Bayan Palace this afternoon between the State of Kuwait and the French Republic, as follows:
1. A Letter of Intent on Defense Cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of the State of Kuwait and the Ministry of Armed Forces and Veterans of the French Republic, signed on behalf of the Government of the State of Kuwait by Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, and on behalf of the Government of the French Republic by Minister of Armed Forces and Veterans Catherine Vautrin.
2. A Declaration of Intent between the Government of the State of Kuwait and the Government of the French Republic on cooperation in the field of civil aviation, signed on behalf of the Government of the State of Kuwait by Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, and on behalf of the Government of the French Republic by Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot.
3. An exploratory cooperation declaration in the fields of data and artificial intelligence between the State Minister for Communications and Information Technology and the French company Bertem, signed on behalf of the Government of the State of Kuwait by State Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Media and Culture Omar Saud Abdulaziz Al-Omar, and on behalf of Bertem by its Chief Executive Officer, Charles-Henri Bou.
5. A Declaration of Intent between the Government of the State of Kuwait and the Government of the French Republic on cooperation in the field of promoting direct investment, signed on behalf of the Government of the State of Kuwait by the Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority, Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and on behalf of the Government of the French Republic by Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot.
6. A Declaration of Intent between the Public Authority for Investment in the State of Kuwait and Airbus on strategic cooperation in the aviation sector, signed on behalf of the Government of the State of Kuwait by the Managing Member of the Public Authority for Investment, Sheikh Saud Salim Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, and on behalf of Airbus by Benoit de Saint Exupéry, Executive Vice President for Sales in the Commercial Aircraft Division.
7. A Joint Declaration of Intent among the Kuwait Public Authority for Investment, the Kuwait Ministry of Health, and the Gustave Roussy Institute, signed on behalf of the Government of the State of Kuwait by the Managing Member of the Public Authority for Investment, Sheikh Saud Salim Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, and the Deputy Minister of Health, Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Abdullah Al-Sabah, and on behalf of the Institute by its President, Fabrice Barlesi.
8. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and Airbus in Africa and the Middle East, signed on behalf of the State of Kuwait by the Director General of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, Dr. Amira Farhan, and on behalf of Airbus by Gabriel Semelas, Managing Director for Africa and the Middle East and Regional Head for Africa and the Middle East.
