Kuwait’s Minister of Education, Sayyid Jalal Al-Tabataba’i, affirmed this morning that the political leadership’s support for the educational journey and its attention to students constitute a fundamental pillar for enhancing excellence and advancing the educational system. He made these remarks during his meeting today with the students who won the two bronze medals in the Gulf Countries Poetry, Short Story, and Novel Competition for the 2025/2026 academic year, along with their supervisors. The meeting was attended by the Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, Engineer Hamad Al-Hamad; the Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative and Technical Affairs, Engineer Mohammed Al-Khalidi; and the Acting Director of the Arabic Language Educational Guidance Department, Wahsh Al-Dosari.
Minister Al-Tabataba’i praised the students’ achievements, which reflect the literary talents and promising creative abilities of Kuwaiti students. He emphasized the importance of nurturing outstanding student potential and providing an educational environment that stimulates discovery and development of their talents, thereby strengthening their presence in Gulf and Arab cultural and literary competitions and events.
The minister noted that identifying and supporting student talents is a national responsibility that requires sustained efforts and the provision of opportunities to develop students’ capabilities and showcase their creativity across various fields. This is particularly relevant given the existence of a gifted students’ support office within the Ministry of Education, which contributes to preparing a creative generation proud of its national identity and committed to serving its country, achieving accomplishments that elevate Kuwait’s name and enhance its standing in Gulf, Arab, and international forums.
The minister appreciated the efforts of school administrations, educational guidance departments, and all Ministry of Education staff in supporting students and nurturing their talents. He commended the role of Educational Guidance Specialist Mohammed Faraj in monitoring the students and overseeing their participation, while underscoring the crucial role of parents as partners in supporting, encouraging, and developing their children’s abilities. He clarified that these achievements are the result of integrated efforts between schools and families, and a shared commitment to providing opportunities that enable talented students to showcase their capabilities and achieve excellence.
Student Khalif Jaza Khalif, a Grade 12 student in the Science Section at Al-Waha Secondary School, won the bronze medal in the poetry category. Meanwhile, student Sheikha Waleed Al-Saif, an 11th-grade student in the Science Section at Al-Farwaniya Secondary School, secured the bronze medal in the short story category. These results were achieved in the second edition of the Gulf Countries Poetry, Short Story, and Novel Competition 2025/2026, held under the slogan “Creating with Arabic.”
