International English striker Harry Kane continued his goal-scoring habit, netting his ninth consecutive Champions League goal as he led his German club Bayern Munich to a thrilling 3-3 draw against Norwegian hosts Viking in the second round, scoring two of the goals.
In this context, statistics network Opta noted that Kane was closing in on the record held by Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo for scoring in consecutive matches.
Ronaldo scored in 11 straight Champions League games until April 2018, while playing for Spanish club Real Madrid.
However, Kane faces a difficult task in continuing to close the gap on Ronaldo, as he will face one of Europe’s strongest defenses, English club Arsenal, at the Allianz Arena in the third round on October 21.
The 33-year-old has managed to score against every Bayern Munich opponent in the continental competition without interruption since the match against Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise on January 21, 2026.
