As Al-Qadsiya continues its internal training camp at a hotel, Al-Arabi held its first training session in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe, on Thursday, as part of both teams’ preparations for their campaigns in the AFC Challenge League.
Al-Arabi, known as “The Yellow,” will host the matches of its Group 3, starting with an opening fixture against Bangladesh’s Fortis FC at the Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium on Saturday. Meanwhile, Al-Qadsiya, known as “The Green,” will begin its campaign on the same day against Syria’s Al-Hamraa SC in Group 2.
Technical and organizational efforts are intensifying ahead of Al-Qadsiya’s hosting of its group matches, with the arrival of all participating teams expected to be completed today.
On the technical front, the team continues its training sessions at Abdullah Al-Khalifa Stadium at Al-Yarmouk Club, as the Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium remains closed until the start of the competition.
“The Yellow” will be without the services of young defender Yousif Al-Haqan, who is sidelined for two to three weeks due to a muscle tear.
The club’s management has also made changes to the technical staff, dismissing Croatian coach Goran Sablic and appointing his assistant, Mohammed Abdulnabi, to lead the team on an interim basis during the Dushanbe trip.
