Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held talks with his British counterpart, Ed Miliband, on Wednesday, to discuss “regional developments, current events in the region, and the escalating tensions and their repercussions on regional and global security and stability, as well as their direct impact on energy and food security.”

During a meeting on the sidelines of the autumn meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Bangkok, the two ministers agreed on “the paramount importance of continuing joint efforts to de-escalate tensions, prioritize political and diplomatic solutions, and reject and condemn attacks on Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the urgent need to halt them immediately.”

In statements to Sky News Arabia, Abdelatty stated that Egypt opposes the displacement plan in Gaza, coordinating with Arab states, and that Israel bears responsibility for delaying the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza agreement.

He added that “communications with Iran aim to reduce regional tensions, as there is no military solution to the crises facing the region. In the same vein, Egypt is working to reach a Sudanese consensus on a future roadmap, while coordinating with Western countries and partners to stop the war in Sudan.”

Marking the first anniversary of the Sharm El-Sheikh summit, Egypt affirmed in a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry its “continuing efforts to consolidate peace in the Middle East, leading to a two-state solution.” It stressed the importance of building on the momentum generated by the historic summit hosted by Egypt, which constituted a significant milestone in international efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip and establish the foundations of security, stability, and peace in the Middle East region.

Palestinian sources in Cairo announced that a delegation from the Fatah movement, including Jibril Rajoub, Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee, and Mohammedishtayeh, a member of the Central Committee, would “within hours” complete preparations for the comprehensive national dialogue, as part of efforts to strengthen Palestinian national unity and harmonize the national stance.

Judicially, the Second Chamber – Terrorism, sentenced 8 Muslim Brotherhood members to 15 years of hard labor in the “Al-Saff Cell” case (No. 3539 of 2025, Al-Saff Criminal Court). The court also ordered the inclusion of the defendants and the group on terrorism lists.
