Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Iran’s proxies are seeking to launch missiles and carry out attacks against Israel in the coming days, asserting that Israel’s enemies are planning to strike it during this period.
In an interview with Israel’s Army Radio on Wednesday, he added that he opposes launching a preemptive strike on Iran at the current time, ahead of elections, stating that “this timing is not suitable for us.”
He noted that Iran was on the verge of annihilating Israel using nuclear weapons, pointing out that his country possesses unprecedented strength in its history.
In response to calls for his resignation following the failures of October 7, Netanyahu said, “There was blindness to what was happening. Even during the Pearl Harbor attack, there was similar blindness, but no one told President Roosevelt: ‘You must step down.’”
In this context, Channel 12 reported that Israel and the United States are closely monitoring with concern a series of ballistic missile tests conducted by Iran in recent days, which are expected to continue.
Despite the tensions, there is currently no change in intelligence assessments that would justify carrying out military action in the coming weeks.
