Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Eng. Sulaiman Saleh Al-Suwailim, issued an administrative directive regarding strict adherence to the Friday sermon issued and distributed by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. The directive instructs the directors of mosque administrations in Kuwait’s six governorates to require all imams under their jurisdiction to deliver the ministry-approved sermon, starting from the upcoming Friday, October 16, 2026, and to maintain this practice permanently.
The directive clarified that the decision stems from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs’ commitment to unifying the religious discourse, strengthening its mission to promote legal awareness, and entrenching authentic Islamic values, thereby serving the public interest.
The directive emphasized compliance with the ministry’s broadcast and distributed sermon, effective from Friday, 5 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH, corresponding to October 16, 2026, affirming that this compliance will be permanent and continuous.
It further stressed that legal measures will be taken against anyone violating the provisions of the directive, ensuring adherence to the issued instructions and achieving their intended objectives.
