The tender is part of the activities related to the operation and maintenance of stormwater drainage facilities, ensuring the readiness and efficiency of pumping stations in handling water accumulations during the rainy season and mitigating their impact on traffic flow and road users’ safety.

The operation and maintenance works are expected to enhance the efficiency of the stations and ensure their continuous operation, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall that require technical and operational readiness to manage the volume of water flowing through tunnels and highways.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works is monitoring the progress of ongoing construction projects and those scheduled to commence, to ensure they proceed according to their established timelines.

The Ministry of Public Works, represented by the Major Projects Sector, held the first site meeting for the project to design, construct, and maintain the new northern building of the Court of Accounts. The meeting was attended by Dhahia Al-Dahiyah, Director General of Construction and Major Projects Affairs, and by the Director of the Projects Implementation Department and the Head of the Supervision Section with the Ministry’s supervision apparatus at temporary offices.

The winning company had previously announced its award of the project tender, valued at USD 85 million. The new building will comprise three underground floors, a ground floor, seven upper floors, a roof, and a four-story extension to the existing parking structure. A pedestrian bridge will connect the new building to the existing one, ensuring functional integration and ease of movement between the two structures.
