29 countries condemn Iran's hostile activities... and support UK allegations regarding 'Vereford'

The United States and its partners, including Britain, Australia, Canada, France, and Germany, warned Iran on Monday against carrying out hostile acts on their territory, following an incident that raised serious concerns at Britain’s RAF Fairford airbase, with London believing it was directed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

A joint statement issued by the U.S. Department of State and signed by 29 entities stated that “any attempt by Iran to threaten, silence, intimidate, harass, harm, or coerce individuals on our territory, whether through proxies or any other means, is unacceptable.”

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham told the House of Commons that the security threat targeting RAF Fairford, a base used by the U.S. military in the war against Iran, was “almost certainly” directed by the Revolutionary Guard.

He added: “We will firmly counter Iran’s use of criminal networks, and we will use all our powers to target these networks and their funding sources. We will also impose further sanctions to limit Iran’s and the Revolutionary Guard’s ability to harm us.”

On Monday, the British government summoned the Iranian ambassador to express its displeasure over “Iran’s ongoing efforts to undermine the security of the United Kingdom and international partners through its criminal networks, affiliated groups, and state-sponsored malicious activities.”

The incident, which occurred near RAF Fairford in the early hours of September 27, led to the arrest of five British men in their twenties on suspicion of involvement in terrorism and explosives-related offenses.
