President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi affirmed on the night of Sunday into Monday that “Egypt’s foreign policy, based on balance, moderation, and self-restraint, is beginning to reflect in the nature of its international relations, and what he has observed during meetings with leaders of major powers reflects respect for the political path the state is pursuing, and an understanding of its approach to managing its external relations and internal crises.”

In statements to the press following his return from an Asian tour that included South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia, he said, “This approach is not limited to gaining international appreciation and respect; it also encourages other countries to develop their relations with Egypt.”

He clarified that “the impression he derived from his meetings reflects the view of Egypt as a state that manages its external relations and crises with a degree of discipline and responsibility. Therefore, exercising self-restraint, managing reactions, and maintaining stable relations with other countries require patience and forbearance.”

He noted that “the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed during the tour amounted to approximately 20 agreements and memoranda of understanding,” emphasizing that “the investment and partnership topics that have been developed into strategic partnerships reflect the stability enjoyed by the state.”

He stressed that “the hero of the struggle is the Egyptian people, not officials, and that what has been achieved would not have been possible without the resilience, patience, and hard work of the people. This underscores the importance of stability in bolstering investment confidence, adding, ‘No one invests money in a place they do not feel secure about.’”

In the context of continuous consultations between the two sides on recent developments, particularly the situation in Yemen and its regional repercussions, as well as the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, during a phone call with his Yemeni counterpart Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zoubi, agreed to condemn those attacks and express full solidarity with the Kingdom, considering its security an integral part of Arab national security.

Militarily, the joint Egyptian-French air exercise “Ammon-2026” commenced, with participation by several aircraft of various types. The exercise will be conducted over several days at multiple air bases in Egypt.

According to an Egyptian military statement, “the exercise is expected to include a number of theoretical lectures aimed at harmonizing concepts, refining skills, and coordinating the management of joint operations across different air combat methods. Multi-role fighter jets from both sides will conduct numerous joint sorties to train on attacking enemy targets and defending vital objectives with efficiency and capability.”
