Burnham: Iranian Revolutionary Guard likely behind Fairford Base incident

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said on Monday that there is a “high probability” that the suspected plot targeting Fairford Air Base was coordinated in Iran, and that it was most likely directed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Speaking before Parliament, he added, “We will not tolerate these threats on our soil. We will firmly counter Iran’s use of criminal networks, and we will use all our powers to target these networks and their sources of funding. We will also impose further sanctions to curtail Iran’s and the Revolutionary Guard’s ability to harm us.”
