Officials at the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy are reviewing all details related to the bilateral water interconnection project between Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to advance the implementation of this vital project.
Sources familiar with the matter told Al-Rai that “the relevant officials in the ministry will arrange a future visit to the Kingdom to complete discussions and consultations, as well as certain technical arrangements, as part of continuing technical coordination between the two sides and following up on related technical and operational aspects.”
The sources added that “the recent meeting held in Kuwait between the Kuwaiti and Saudi sides discussed updates on the water interconnection project and reviewed and discussed the technical information and requirements exchanged between the two sides.”
The initiative aims to support the operational efficiency of the power grid by preparing technical, operational, and planning studies, alongside developing the expertise of national cadres in this field, and fulfilling the technical study requirements mandated by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Power Interconnection Authority.
