This came on the occasion of the launch of the awards ceremony for the winners of the fourth Kuwait International Competition to Support the Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence, and Technology Ecosystem, held on Monday under the patronage of the Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma.

Regarding the numerical data reflecting the award’s impact in its fourth edition in 2026, Al-Mubarak highlighted the achievements and successes realized with the participation of 600 experts, representing some of the brightest minds and top talents from various countries around the world, representing 20 winning nations at this thriving international forum. The award covered six main categories encompassing the latest advanced technology sectors and artificial intelligence, resulting in the recognition of 60 winners with medals, certificates of appreciation, and prizes.

In the context of the award’s outcomes, indicators, and economic impacts, Al-Mubarak explained that the transformation of creative ideas and patents into startups and marketable commercial products, as well as attracting foreign investments and venture capital, is measured through the growth rate of technology-backed startups, the volume of funding allocated to the entrepreneurship sector, and the contribution to economic diversification. This leads to the creation of new economic sectors based on digitalization and technological innovation, opening up broad global investment channels.

From a technical and technological perspective, the provision of advanced solutions and AI-supported business models, along with patent registration for smart cities, is closely linked to indicators of the country’s ranking in global innovation indices, the number of solutions actually implemented in vital sectors, and the growth rate of research and development activities, as well as technology transfer and commercialization. This contributes to accelerating digital engines, localizing modern technologies, and enhancing infrastructure efficiency.

Regarding social aspects, she stated that the award’s outcomes are reflected in the creation of high-quality, sustainable job opportunities and addressing societal challenges in health, education, and the environment. These are measured through indicators such as the rate of new job creation in techno-innovation sectors, the participation rates of talents and academics, and indicators of empowering youth skills, thereby achieving the desired impact of improving individuals’ quality of life and fostering a culture of creativity and talent.
