The Yemeni military operation “Fajr al-Yemen” (Yemen’s Dawn) entered its seventh day on Sunday, with the scope of air strikes targeting Houthi group positions and reinforcements expanding across the fronts in Taiz and the western coast. This coincided with ongoing ground operations by the Southern Giants Brigades and the “Homeland Shield” forces, which have surrounded groups of rebels in the vicinity of the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Military estimates suggest that the group’s casualties have risen to approximately 12,000 killed and wounded during the first six days of the operation.

Air strikes extended from the combat fronts in Taiz to military sites and targets in areas under Houthi control in Sana’a, Saada, Hajjah, and Ibb, reflecting an intensification of military pressure on the group. This occurred alongside air support operations for government forces on various combat axes and Houthi attempts to recapture positions they lost on the western coast.

On the western coast, the Southern Giants Brigades reported destroying five armored Houthi vehicles and killing those aboard during an attempt to advance toward Dhobab Airport. The brigades also announced repelling a Houthi attack on their positions north of the airport, inflicting human and material losses on the attackers, while air strikes targeted reinforcements deployed by the group to the area.

These confrontations come as government forces seek to consolidate their control over liberated areas in Bab al-Mandab, Miun Island, and the Kahbob mountains, preventing the Houthis from regaining strategic positions overlooking the strait and the western coast. Meanwhile, ground forces continue their operations to expand territorial gains and secure surrounding areas.

In a development reflecting the intensity of military operations, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced carrying out more than 1,900 direct and precise targeting operations over the past 24 hours across the eastern, western, and southwestern fronts, as part of the “Fajr al-Yemen” operation.

Brigadier General Majid al-Nazili, spokesperson for the Armed Forces, stated that the strikes targeted weapons and ammunition depots, fortifications, camps, military positions, and points on commanding heights, as well as assembly areas, artillery emplacements, and transport means for personnel and supplies.

He added that the operations also targeted legitimate and high-value military objectives deep within areas under Houthi control, noting that initial field estimates indicate the neutralization of more than 1,150 group members and the destruction or damage of more than 180 combat, transport, and supply vehicles during the same period.

He confirmed that ground forces continued to develop their offensive, achieving new field advances, recapturing additional positions, and consolidating control over commanding heights and strategic sites, as part of efforts to enhance gains achieved since the launch of the operation.
