Kuwait National Bank has launched the second edition of its Credit Analyst Development Program as part of the “Kuwait National Bank Corporate Academy,” in collaboration with the global Euromoney institution.

The initiative brings together 12 Kuwaiti employees for a comprehensive year-long development journey, reflecting the bank’s focus on building capabilities and equipping participants with the technical knowledge, practical experience, and professional confidence needed to contribute effectively to its credit operations.

The program offers participants a learning experience that combines technical development with practical application, covering key areas in banking and credit, including financial and business analysis, lending, deal structuring and risk assessment, credit monitoring, and credit reporting. These components are supported by practical case studies and on-the-job applications within the bank’s departments.

The event was attended by Kuwait National Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Jelle Jan van der Toel, along with a group of senior bank executives and Euromoney officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Afrah Al-Arbash, General Manager of Human Resources Management at the bank, said: “The significance of this specialized program lies in its focus on honing credit and financial analysis skills, and equipping trainees with the expertise needed to keep pace with the rapid developments in corporate banking.”

She noted that building a new generation of financial and credit analysts not only strengthens the bank’s internal work environment and enhances its risk management efficiency, but also directly supports the national economy and boosts competitiveness in Kuwait’s banking sector as a whole.

Al-Arbash added: “Investing in human capital and developing young national talent is at the core of our plans. Through Kuwait National Bank Corporate, we are committed to providing a comprehensive educational and training environment that equips our employees with advanced skills in credit analysis, preparing a promising generation that keeps pace with financial sector developments and contributes to the bank’s sustainable success.”

She emphasized that the bank’s true investment lies in developing human capital and equipping it with the latest analytical tools and global financial standards, noting that this program will enhance the readiness of young staff to provide tailored and professional financing solutions for the business sector. It also reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting Kuwait’s vision of building a sustainable banking sector capable of driving economic growth as a trusted partner.

Al-Arbash stated: “We are not merely offering a training course; we are providing our employees with a comprehensive professional pathway that refines their skills and transforms theoretical knowledge into well-informed decisions, thereby strengthening the bank’s position as a preferred destination for talents and those passionate about banking excellence.”

She said: “The launch of the new cohort of the Kuwait National Bank Corporate Academy reflects our proactive approach to enhancing the quality of services provided to the business and corporate sectors.”

She clarified that modern economic challenges require new standards in risk assessment and credit opportunity evaluation, highlighting that the importance of this program lies in equipping the bank with a select group of competent credit analysts capable of providing well-researched advisory and financing services that meet the aspirations of our corporate partners, while simultaneously ensuring the preservation of the quality of the bank’s assets.

This initiative comes as the bank, through its collaboration with Euromoney, continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering Kuwaiti youth with the knowledge, experience, and professional capabilities required to build successful careers in banking.
