Gulf Journalists Union Condemns Houthi Aggression Against Saudi Arabia

The Gulf Journalists Union expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the escalating terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militias against the fraternal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of civilians and caused damage to public and private property, in blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and posing a direct threat to regional security and peace.
In a statement, the Union emphasized that targeting airports, service and economic facilities, attempts to strike Mecca, and the attack on an electrical facility in Medina serving the Noble Prophet’s Mosque constitute a serious escalation and a transgression of religious and human values, as well as international norms, showing disregard for the sanctity of holy sites and the safety of civilians. It stressed that any infringement on the security of Mecca and Medina constitutes an assault on the sentiments of the entire Islamic nation, and that the security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and holy sites of the Kingdom are an inseparable part of shared Gulf security.
The Union reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, and its steadfast support for all legitimate measures aimed at protecting the Kingdom’s security, safeguarding its sovereignty, defending its territory and holy sites, and ensuring the safety of its citizens and residents, in line with the shared destiny of the Gulf.
The Union also called on Arab, Islamic, and international journalistic organizations to adopt clear stances against attacks on civilians, civilian infrastructure, and holy sites, and to enhance cooperation in documenting violations and countering media misinformation.
The Gulf Journalists Union affirmed that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is part of Gulf security, that safeguarding the Two Holy Mosques is a great responsibility, that Gulf solidarity in confronting Houthi aggression is a firm position, and that professional journalism based on truth represents an effective force in exposing aggression and protecting societies.
