Bayern Munich Concedes Fastest Goal in Bundesliga History

Bayern Munich conceded the fastest goal in Bundesliga history on Saturday, after falling behind at Augsburg just eight seconds into the match following a serious passing error by their goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer.
From the kickoff taken by Bayern players, Colombian striker Luis Díaz passed the ball back to Neuer, who controlled it with his right foot.
Under pressure from Augsburg’s Robin Gehbauer, the 2014 World Cup champion attempted to clear the ball with his right foot, but the Augsburg forward intercepted it and fired it into the empty Bayern net after just eight seconds.
Gehbauer thus scored the fastest goal in Bundesliga history, beating the previous record of nine seconds by one second. The prior record had been shared since August 2015 by Kevin Volland with Hoffenheim (also against Bayern) and Karim Bellarabi with Bayer Leverkusen (against Borussia Dortmund).
