Kuwait Strongly Condemns the Shameful Houthi Attacks on King Khalid Airport in Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the brazen attacks launched by the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on October 8, 2026. These attacks targeted airport facilities and a Saudi Arabian Airlines aircraft, resulting in the martyrdom of several Saudi citizens, injuries to residents of various nationalities, and material damage, in blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law.

The Ministry emphasized Kuwait’s unequivocal rejection of these cowardly attacks and their recurrence, given that they pose a direct threat to regional security, the safety of civilians and civilian objects, and air navigation. It underscored the necessity of an immediate halt to such hostile acts.

Reaffirming Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures undertaken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and the protection of its citizens and residents on its territory, the Ministry stressed that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Kuwait also expressed its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, as well as to the families of the martyrs, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
