The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy has obtained approval from the Court of Accounts to implement maintenance and repair projects for high-voltage transformer cables in the Northern and Southern regions, at a total cost of 5.520 million dinars, as part of the ministry’s preparations to enhance the readiness of the power grid for the upcoming summer season of 2027.
These maintenance works are part of the ministry’s plan to strengthen the reliability and continuity of services, improve the efficiency of components in both the electrical and water networks, and address faults, thereby reducing the likelihood of failures and outages during periods of high demand. In parallel, the ministry has begun carrying out routine maintenance on components of both the electrical and water networks as part of early preparations for the summer season, alongside proceeding with the implementation of proposed maintenance and repair projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of equipment and facilities and bolstering their readiness.
Meanwhile, ministry officials have begun preparing plans to address the challenges of summer 2027, with a primary focus on maintaining electricity and water production units, main and secondary substations, and high-voltage lines.
