Eman Al-Anazi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Social Care and Development Sector and Director of Social Development at the Ministry of Social Affairs, affirmed that “true development begins with human beings and the enhancement of their capabilities, empowering them to participate actively in their communities.” She noted that “women are a fundamental partner in creating impact, and the exemplary models we see today are the fruit of conscious female energies that deserve support and appreciation, as well as the opening of more spaces for them to contribute and serve society.”
Speaking at a ceremony honoring women who had been certified in Quranic recitation (Qira’at), Al-Anazi stated that “the occasion aligns with what we believe in at the Ministry of Social Affairs, represented by the Social Care and Development Sector.” She praised the distinctive programs and initiatives undertaken by Quranic associations, and the stimulating educational and upbringing environments they provide, which contribute to building individuals through the Quran and creating an impact that extends from the individual to the family and society.
She expressed pride in the efforts of Tartil Association for the Holy Quran and its Sciences in serving the Book of God and its people, elevating Quranic standards, encouraging excellence, and opening broad horizons for women to continue their contributions in the field of the Holy Quran and its sciences. She congratulated the women certified in Quranic recitations and those who had completed memorization of the Book of God, as well as their families, teachers, and all who supported and assisted them on this blessed journey.
For her part, Sheikhah Aisha Al-Safwi, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Tartil Association, said, “This ceremony is not merely a celebration of individual achievements, but a celebration of a journey we believe in, a message that renews itself, and a trust we carry, and a path we strive to walk with steadfastness and mastery.” She explained that “since the association’s establishment, we have worked to ensure that the service of the Holy Quran keeps pace with the needs of this era, drawing inspiration from the Book of God for methodological steadfastness, from our reality for the speed of development, and from our aspirations for the constant pursuit of excellence.”
Al-Safwi added, “We strive to update our programs, improve our tools, expand the circle of beneficiaries of our services, and utilize modern technologies in education, follow-up, and evaluation, believing that when development is harnessed to serve the Quran, it becomes a means of building this pioneering country.”
She emphasized that “the association has taken steps in the field of digital transformation, and among its fruits is its readiness to launch its electronic platform, which is part of the projects included in its five-year strategic plan. This platform will serve as a modern space that meets the needs of students and sheikhas, brings knowledge closer, facilitates access to the association’s programs, and opens wider horizons for learning and follow-up. We also rely on a vision that goes beyond memorizing the Quran to building individuals through the Quran, and to making our programs a comprehensive educational environment that combines memorization and mastery, recitation and contemplation, knowledge and action, as well as building the student, qualifying the teacher, and creating impact.”
She stressed that “true development does not rely solely on individual efforts. We are proud of our partnerships, headed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, civil society, our colleagues from associations and endowments, everyone who believed in the association’s mission and supported its programs, and every sheikha, student, family, and supporter who contributed to this journey.”
Concluding her speech, Al-Safwi said, “Today, we see before us these shining models, and we celebrate those whom God has blessed with the ability to recite and be selected in the 2024 and 2025 cohorts of women who obtained Quranic certification in various recitations and completed memorization of the Book of God, totaling 75 students.”
