Kuwait-Cyprus Cooperation in Security, Law, and Rescue

Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, Abdullah Al-Turki, held talks with Cypriot Minister of Justice and Public Order Kostas Viteris on ways to enhance security and legal cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Ambassador Al-Turki told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday, following the meeting, that the discussions focused on strengthening communication and coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries and exchanging expertise. He noted that the Cypriot Minister of Justice and Public Order oversees several security and police-related files.

He added that Minister Viteris expressed his country’s desire to broaden cooperation with Kuwait and enhance coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries to serve shared interests.

Ambassador Al-Turki clarified that the talks also addressed Cyprus’s experience with the “Amalthia” initiative and the humanitarian sea corridor to the Gaza Strip, as well as its role in managing regional crises. He pointed out that the Cypriot minister invited him to visit the Search and Rescue Coordination Center in Larnaca to learn about its functions, operational mechanisms, and role in coordinating related operations.

The ambassador emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to continuing the development of its relations with Cyprus and strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries.
