Gulf Air Official Air Carrier for the 12th Edition of 'Gulf 642' Marathon

Gulf Air announced its collaboration with Gulf Bank and Savex to organize sports events, becoming the official airline carrier for the Gulf Bank 642 Marathon. This event is one of the most prominent sports and community activities in its 12th edition, held annually in Kuwait.
In a statement, the company noted that the partnership reflects “Al Jazeera’s” commitment to supporting initiatives that bring together various segments of Kuwaiti society, encourage an active lifestyle, and highlight Kuwait as a vibrant destination for hosting major sports and entertainment events.
During a press conference held on the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Najla Al-Aissa, Head of Marketing at Gulf Bank—the main sponsor of Kuwait’s largest and only globally classified marathon—welcomed “Al Jazeera” as a partner and the marathon’s official airline carrier. She emphasized that the partnership reflects the convergence of two Kuwaiti institutions united by a shared vision of serving the community and supporting initiatives that leave a positive and sustainable impact.
Al-Aissa added, “We are proud of the annual success of the (Gulf) Marathon and its transformation into a sports and community platform that brings together diverse segments of society across all ages under a single goal: practicing sports and changing societal culture toward a healthier lifestyle. Furthermore, this partnership with (Al Jazeera) will support our efforts to consolidate the marathon’s status as one of the largest sports events in Kuwait and the region, and to enhance Kuwait’s role as an attractive destination for sports and community events that reflect the spirit of participation and positive engagement.”
For his part, Ahmed Al-Majed, Chief Operating Officer at Savex, praised “Al Jazeera’s” participation as the official airline carrier for the Gulf 642 Marathon. He noted that this partnership will help connect runners and visitors from across the region to the marathon, while supporting efforts to highlight Kuwait as a destination for hosting major sports and community events.
Al-Majed stated, “The Gulf 642 Marathon is designed to bring people together through sports, shared experiences, and a sense of community. We welcome (Al Jazeera) as the official airline carrier for this year’s marathon, as it will facilitate the arrival of runners and visitors from across the region thanks to its extensive network of destinations. It will also support our ambition to highlight Kuwait as a destination for hosting major sports events.”
As the official airline carrier, “Al Jazeera” will support the Gulf 642 Marathon by helping to connect participants and visitors to Kuwait through its growing network of destinations in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa.
For his part, Parathan Pasupathy, Chief Executive Officer of “Al Jazeera,” said, “We are pleased to support the (Gulf 642) Marathon, which has become one of the most important events on Kuwait’s sports and community calendar.”
