Maintenance of Secondary Transformation Stations in 19 Areas

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy continues to implement its routine maintenance program for a number of secondary substations across 19 areas in the governorates, as part of the ministry’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of the electrical grid and ensure the continuity and stability of the power supply.

In its announcement regarding the maintenance schedules, the ministry stated that the work scheduled for today, Wednesday, may require temporary power outages. It clarified that maintenance operations begin at 8:00 a.m. and last for four hours, according to the specific schedule for each substation.

The ministry noted that the duration of power outages may be subject to change, either increasing or decreasing, depending on working conditions and the nature of the technical procedures carried out at the sites. It emphasized that maintenance teams are working to complete the required tasks and restore power as quickly as possible.

The maintenance works cover several areas and residential blocks, including Al-Salibiya Residential in Blocks 5 and 10, Mushref Block 1, Al-Fanitees Block 7, Al-Masail Block 1, Al-Salmiya Block 3, and Bayan in Blocks 3 and 5.

On another note, the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy organized awareness lectures titled “Be Aware” from October 4 to 6 at the Training Center for the Electrical Distribution Networks Sector. The ministry explained that these lectures are part of its commitment to raising the awareness and cultural level of its employees, and enhancing their knowledge of safe and prudent methods for handling electrical devices and the water network. The lectures aim to familiarize employees with proper guidelines and procedures to follow when dealing with electrical equipment and water network components, thereby contributing to enhanced safety and reducing risks arising from unsafe usage.

The lectures include a set of directives and advice designed to reinforce correct practices in handling electrical and water systems, alongside promoting a culture of consumption rationalization and resource conservation.

These awareness programs contribute to raising the level of awareness among ministry employees and strengthening their adherence to safety procedures, which positively impacts the work environment and helps safeguard employees, facilities, and infrastructure.
