German ambassador: Full solidarity with Kuwait and appreciation for its armed forces

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kuwait, Dr. Dirk Rotenberg, praised Kuwait’s resilience and its ability to confront challenges and unstable security conditions in the region. He affirmed his country’s full solidarity with Kuwait, both its leadership and its people, and expressed appreciation for the efforts undertaken by its armed forces and security agencies in defending the country and safeguarding its security and stability.

During a speech delivered at the German Embassy’s celebration of German Unity Day, held in the Raya Hall on Monday evening, Ambassador Rotenberg emphasized Germany’s high regard for the distinguished relations between Germany and Kuwait, commending the level of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The event was attended by Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabtabaie, along with several officials, diplomats, and members of the German community in Kuwait.

He stated that German-Kuwaiti relations are built on a solid foundation of friendship and mutual respect, expressing appreciation for high-level visits and communications between the two countries. He referred to the visit of Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to Germany and his talks with his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, last September, noting that these reflected the depth of relations and the growing momentum they have witnessed, as well as the shared desire to continue developing cooperation across various fields.

Rotenberg noted that cooperation between the two countries extends beyond the political sphere to encompass multiple economic and investment sectors, including energy, technology, artificial intelligence, security, education, and academic cooperation, alongside other areas of mutual interest.

He affirmed Germany’s aspiration to enhance cooperation with Kuwait within regional and international organizations, stressing the importance of joint efforts in addressing global challenges.

He pointed out that the world is currently facing a range of interconnected challenges, including rising oil prices, as well as conflicts and crises in various regions. He emphasized that these developments require countries to strengthen cooperation, coordination, and joint action.

He stressed that international cooperation and dialogue remain among the most important means of addressing these challenges and building a safer, more stable, and more prosperous future, noting that countries need one another to cope with the rapid changes the world is experiencing.

He affirmed that Germany and Kuwait are working together to enhance security, stability, and prosperity, highlighting the importance of international cooperation amid growing economic, security, and political challenges facing the international community.

In conclusion, he thanked members of the German community in Kuwait, affirming that they feel safe and protected, and receive care and attention, while commending the friendly and supportive environment provided by Kuwait for the German community.

Reflecting on the anniversary of German Unity Day, Rotenberg underscored the significance of this historic occasion, noting that the fall of the Berlin Wall and the peaceful unification of Germany marked an important historical milestone that demonstrated peoples’ capacity to achieve change through peaceful means.

He observed that this year’s celebration of German Unity Day takes place amid ongoing crises and conflicts in various parts of the world, emphasizing that the German experience offers important lessons on the value of peace, dialogue, and cooperation, and that building a more stable future requires strengthening communication between nations and peoples.
