The Premier Handball League for the previous season resumes tomorrow, Wednesday, with two matches in the 14th round. Al-Qadsia will face Al-Salibikhaat at 5:00 p.m., while Al-Arabi will play against Al-Salmiya at 6:30 p.m., all at the Martyr Fahd Al-Ahmad Hall, located at the Federation’s headquarters in Daeiya.

Doubts had surrounded the participation of the “Yellow” and “Sky Blue” clubs, after both announced earlier that they did not wish to continue in the public competitions. However, since neither club formally notified the federation of its decision, the competitions committee included them in the league schedule.

If withdrawals recur in the next three rounds, Al-Qadsia and Al-Salmiya will face financial penalties, along with the cancellation of their results and a reduction in the number of teams in the league, according to the competition regulations.

The league had been suspended after the conclusion of the 13th round in late February last year, due to security conditions in the region at the time. The federation later decided to complete the competition before the start of the new season, while adopting the final results of the youth category tournaments as they stood.

According to the match schedule recently issued by the federation, the Premier League and the First Division, which kicked off last Saturday, will continue until October 29. The Federation Cup tournament will last for 15 days and conclude on November 16 next year.

Following that, local competitions will pause, coinciding with Kuwait Club’s participation in the Gulf Club Champions Cup in Bahrain from November 21 to 30, as well as the Kuwait national team’s preparations for the 2027 FIFA World Cup in Germany, scheduled from January 13 to 31.

The new 2026-2027 season is expected to launch in February next year, beginning with the Super Cup tournament, followed by the league.
