Bait Almal: Global Presence Reflects Capacity for Growth and Innovation

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) Group announced its participation in the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, scheduled to take place from October 12 to 18 in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The event will bring together a select group of finance ministers, central bank governors, banking leaders, and financial decision-makers from around the world.

The KFH delegation will be led by the Group’s Chairman, Hamad Al-Marzouq, and will include Group Chief Executive Officer Khaled Al-Shamlan; Group Executive Vice President for Treasury and Financial Institutions David O’Loughlin; KFH Treasury Head in Kuwait Ahmed Al-Samit; Chief Executive Officer of Bitak Capital Abdullah Al-Haddad; and Group Head of Public Relations and Media Yousef Al-Ruwais.

This participation underscores KFH’s commitment to strengthening its international presence and reaffirms its leading position in the regional and global landscape as a pioneering Islamic banking group. With operations spanning 10 countries worldwide—most notably Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Germany—KFH is supported by an extensive network of over 600 branches. Guided by a clear strategic vision, the Group aims to solidify its place among the world’s top 100 banks in the coming years.

The participation also reflects KFH’s ongoing dedication to enhancing its presence at international economic forums, showcasing its leading banking experience, and highlighting the pivotal role of Islamic finance in achieving financial stability and supporting sustainable development pathways.

These annual meetings of the World Bank and the IMF provide an opportunity to explore cooperation and partnerships with global financial institutions, while shedding light on the role of the Islamic banking industry and KFH’s extensive expertise in Islamic finance. The Group’s global presence has been validated by its ability to sustain growth and innovation, keeping pace with transformations in the financial sector, and serving as a model capable of driving sustainable development. Additionally, the event offers a platform to showcase the strength of the Kuwaiti economy and the robustness of its financial and banking system.

The KFH delegation is expected to engage in discussions with finance ministers, central bank governors, and heads of major financial institutions from around the world, focusing on ways to enhance growth prospects. Key topics will include economic development, strengthening the financial and banking sectors, digital transformation, and innovation in financial services, among other issues shaping the future of global growth.

KFH will also participate in the Gulf-Asia Economic Forum, attending a session titled “Banking, Investment, and Digital Infrastructure,” which will feature a select group of officials and leaders from investment and technology sectors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Asia.

Furthermore, the Group’s delegation will attend the Kuwaiti Banks Reception, organized by the Kuwait Banks Association. This event is one of the most prominent economic gatherings, bringing together government officials, policymakers, and heads of financial and investment institutions from around the world to exchange views and discuss economic and financial challenges and developments.
