Saudi Arabia: 3 Minor Injuries and Material Damage in Attacks on Jizan and Najran Airports

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the brazen and shameful continued attacks by the Houthi militia on the holy cities of Makkah al-Mukarramah and Madinah al-Munawwarah in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These attacks constitute a provocation of the sentiments of Muslims worldwide and represent a serious escalation in the violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites. They also include attacks against the capital, Riyadh, and several other cities in the Kingdom, as well as targeting civilians, civilian and economic assets, and ships in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, thereby threatening regional security and the safety of maritime navigation.

Reiterating the State of Kuwait’s support for the legitimate Yemeni government, as well as for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the sisterly Republic of Yemen, the Ministry commended, in this regard, the tireless efforts of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 2014 to support initiatives aimed at reaching a comprehensive and sustainable political settlement in Yemen, in accordance with the three reference points, and its leadership of the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen. It called upon the Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and implement its relevant resolutions, particularly Resolutions 2216 and 2817.

The Ministry also reiterated the State of Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support alongside the Kingdom, and its backing of all measures undertaken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty and security, and to protect its citizens and residents on its territory. It emphasized that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
