Burkan Bank, in collaboration with CODED Academy, celebrated the conclusion of the “Academy X” program for the second consecutive year, as part of its strategic sponsorship of the initiative, which extends its commitment to supporting youth, empowering women, and investing in the development of future skills.
The program reflects the bank’s approach to corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and its dedication to supporting educational initiatives that contribute to the development of national competencies, in alignment with Kuwait’s Vision 2035 goals and objectives.
The 2026 edition of “Academy X” featured two specialized tracks in tech entrepreneurship and AI-driven marketing, alongside a hands-on educational experience that enabled participants to develop their skills in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and to transform ideas into practical projects and solutions.
Commenting on the occasion, Hessa Al-Najjada, Senior Director of Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Burkan Bank, stated: “Our strategic sponsorship of the program for the second consecutive year stems from the bank’s belief in the importance of corporate social responsibility and our role in investing in young talents and supporting women’s empowerment.”
Al-Najjada added, “Over the two years of sponsorship, more than 1,000 female students graduated from the program, acquiring skills in entrepreneurship and programming, as well as banking literacy, in line with the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ campaign launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait in collaboration with the Banks Association and local banks.”
“We strive through these initiatives to achieve a sustainable impact consistent with Burkan Bank’s strategy and Kuwait’s Vision 2035 goals. We believe that these young talents represent the future generation, and that their ambition, ideas, and capabilities can contribute to building a prosperous future for Kuwait.”
On her part, Fatima Ahmed, Senior Director of Corporate Culture and Employee Relations at the bank, said: “The students’ commitment and determination to complete the program are among the key factors behind the success of this experience, as it provided them with the opportunity to develop their skills and apply what they learned through a practical experience that helps prepare them for the job market and enhances their readiness for future opportunities. We extend our gratitude to all the students for their efforts and commitment, and to their parents for their support and encouragement of their daughters, which played a significant role in enabling them to benefit from this educational experience.”
For his part, Hashem Bahbahani, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at CODED, stated: “Our partnership with the bank tops our priorities, and we celebrate this partnership for the second consecutive year within ‘Academy X.’ What unites us with Burkan Bank is a firm belief that Kuwait’s technological future is built by the efforts of its youth, both young men and women. The program places technology and artificial intelligence in the hands of Kuwaiti girls as tools for innovation and entrepreneurship. Hence, our shared commitment is to translate this belief into real tech projects and national talents ready for the job market. We at Burkan Bank value the bank as a strategic partner that sees investing in Kuwaiti girls as investing in Kuwait itself. We thank them for their continuous support and look forward to the second year having a broader impact than the first, and to this partnership continuing for years to come.”
Burkan Bank will continue to support initiatives and programs aimed at developing youth capabilities, empowering them, and honing their skills, in alignment with Kuwait’s Vision 2035 goals, and to reinforce its role in supporting the building of a generation capable of contributing to Kuwait’s future.
At the conclusion of the program, Burqan honored the winning team for the best project in “Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies” with a cash prize, in recognition of the project they presented and its innovative application of the skills and knowledge acquired during the program, reflecting the spirit of innovation and teamwork and demonstrating the participants’ ability to transform their ideas into projects with a positive impact.
This recognition underscores Burqan’s commitment to encouraging young talent, supporting innovation, and motivating participants to develop their ideas and turn them into practical solutions and projects.
Academy X included a session introducing the students to the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, highlighting its objectives and key pillars, which include encouraging saving and financial planning from an early age, raising awareness about financial fraud and ways to avoid it, and emphasizing the importance of safely using banking services and products, thereby contributing to strengthening financial and banking literacy among the younger generation.
