Trump: Ukrainian Strikes... Cause of Rising Oil Prices
US President Donald Trump attributed the current rise in oil prices to Ukraine’s strikes on Russian refineries, rather than to the war in the Middle East or Iran’s disruption of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump stated, “The Strait of Hormuz is no longer what’s driving up diesel prices, because record numbers of barrels are currently being shipped out almost daily. Rather, it’s the refineries—Ukraine is bombing those belonging to Russia,” referring to Kyiv’s long-range attacks on Russian oil refining facilities.
