Al-Zaid: Exploring Cooperation Opportunities and Strengthening Relations Between Kuwaiti and Italian Private Sectors

Emad Al-Zaid, Deputy General Manager of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the importance of strengthening economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Kuwait and the Italian Republic, and broadening the horizons of partnership between the business communities of the two countries. He made these remarks during a meeting with Alvise Biave, President of the Italian association Assolombarda, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Italian Ambassador Lorenzo Morini, to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade relations and review available opportunities for establishing partnerships between Kuwaiti and Italian companies.

Al-Zaid stated that the Chamber is ready to leverage its expertise and resources to support communication between companies in both countries, thereby facilitating the exploration of cooperation and partnership opportunities and strengthening ties between the private sectors of Kuwait and Italy.

He added that the Chamber is prepared to host a business meeting and an exhibition featuring Italian companies and their Kuwaiti counterparts at its headquarters, coinciding with the upcoming visit, to enable direct communication and explore available commercial and investment opportunities.

He reaffirmed the readiness to disseminate and publicize Italian investment and trade opportunities to Kuwaiti companies, contributing to increased bilateral trade and encouraging mutual investments between the two countries.

The meeting addressed several promising sectors for cooperation between the two sides, foremost among them the manufacturing of machinery and equipment, artificial intelligence applications in the health and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as training and knowledge exchange in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises.

During the meeting, the Italian side provided an overview of Assolombarda, one of the largest entities representing the private sector in Italy, particularly in the regions of Milan, Monza, Brianza, Lodi, and Pavia. The association comprises more than 7,100 companies, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to multinational corporations, and employs approximately 443,000 people.
