Research Center and Al-Roudhatain to Develop Groundwater Management

The Water Research Center at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and Al Rawdatayn Water Bottling Company, in coordination with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), have signed a research agreement to conduct a comprehensive study aimed at developing a sustainable framework for managing groundwater in the Al Rawdatayn area, which serves as a water source for the company’s production.

In a statement on Sunday, the institute noted that this initiative aligns with Al Rawdatayn Water Bottling Company’s commitment as a national enterprise to support water security programs in Kuwait and enhance the long-term sustainability of water resources.

The institute added that the company, in collaboration with KFAS, requested the Water Research Center at KISR to carry out an integrated study that contributes to preserving this vital resource and ensuring its sustainability.

It was clarified that the project will be implemented in cooperation with KFAS and in full coordination with the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, thereby strengthening national efforts to manage water resources sustainably and ensure their long-term availability.

The main objective of the study is to maintain the long-term sustainability of the aquifer and support the reliable and efficient use of groundwater, contributing to enhanced sustainable water resource management and supporting Kuwait’s efforts to achieve and maintain water security.
