943 Kuwaitis to Undergo Exams for Mosque Religious Positions

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs is preparing to fill religious positions in mosques by completing the examination procedures for Kuwaiti applicants seeking roles as imams, preachers, and muezzins, under the directives of Minister of Religious Affairs and Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Wasmi and with the direct supervision of Deputy Minister Dr. Engineer Sulaiman Al-Suwailim. This initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen national cadres in mosques and meet their needs for religious positions.

Ninety-four three citizens who were accepted to take the exam will participate in the written test for religious positions in mosques, distributed across three categories: applicants for the position of imam and preacher, applicants for the position of muezzin, and retired applicants for the position of muezzin.

The ministry will organize the written exam over two days. Applicants for the positions of imams and preachers will take their written exam on Tuesday, October 6, while Wednesday, October 7, is reserved for applicants for the position of muezzin, in accordance with the procedures and regulations set by the ministry.

These exams are part of the approved procedures for selecting qualified personnel to fill religious positions in mosques, thereby supplying mosques with national cadres capable of performing the duties of imams, preachers, and muezzins, and meeting the ministry’s needs in accordance with established conditions and regulations.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has issued several important reminders and instructions for applicants taking the written exam, emphasizing the need to comply with them to ensure the smooth and organized conduct of the exams. Among the key instructions is the requirement to bring a civil ID when attending the exam.

The ministry stressed that answers on the exam paper must be written in blue ink only. No applicant will be allowed to enter the exam hall after thirty minutes from the start of the exam, and all applicants are urged to arrive on time and avoid being late.

Instructions also include turning off mobile phones during the exam and prohibiting the entry of books and personal notes into the exam hall, in order to maintain exam discipline and ensure equal opportunities for all applicants.

Regarding the organization of the exam day, the ministry clarified that the Asr prayer will be held at Sayyid Yaqoub Al-Rifa’i Mosque (the Ministry Mosque) five minutes after the call to prayer, urging applicants to adhere to the announced instructions and comply with the specified organizational procedures.

The ministry continues its preparations to complete the selection stages for religious positions, with a view to utilizing national cadres who meet the required conditions and regulations, thereby enhancing the presence of Kuwaiti competencies in mosques and helping to meet the ministry’s needs for imams, preachers, and muezzins.
