The military influence map of the legitimate forces in Yemen is witnessing a significant strategic shift, following wide-ranging offensive operations and sudden, targeted strikes launched by the armed forces across all battlefronts, aiming to paralyze the military and logistical capabilities of the Houthi terrorist militia.
Government forces broke a new Houthi offensive wave targeting the western front of Taiz city, forcing the attackers to retreat, coinciding with a broad escalation in aerial and artillery targeting of the group’s positions, reinforcements, and supply lines across various fronts in the governorate.
As part of an integrated military strategy, the Yemeni army carried out approximately 545 airstrikes and bombardment operations against rebel positions on Friday and Saturday. These were distributed between 474 strikes encompassing the militia’s strongholds and command centers in Sana’a and the governorates of Marib, Al-Jawf, and the western coast, alongside 71 targeted strikes in the rural areas of Taiz, according to two statements from the legitimate forces.
The intensive operations did not only thwart Houthi infiltration plans but also achieved tangible ground advances, resulting in the neutralization of more than 1,540 Houthi elements (killed or wounded) and the destruction of 216 military vehicles and capabilities.
Spokesman for the Armed Forces, Colonel Majid Al-Nazili, clarified in a statement that the armed forces executed an offensive operation against legitimate military targets in Sana’a, affirming that the armed forces’ capabilities are sufficient to carry out strategic attacks against the militias.
While violent explosions rocked Sana’a on Saturday following airstrikes targeting scattered Houthi positions, a military source told the official Saba News Agency that “the armed forces, supported by popular resistance from the people of Sam’a district, managed to seize Sam’a Fortress after fierce battles with the militias,” adding that “the operation resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of rebels, with others fleeing.”
Meanwhile, as forces in Taiz thwarted Houthi attacks on the fronts of Jabal Han, Hawran, and the city’s western fronts, air defenses in the Sixth Military Zone shot down four Houthi drones on the Al-Shahla front east of Al-Jawf governorate, while air defenses of the 101st Infantry Brigade successfully intercepted and shot down hostile drones before they could achieve their objectives.
It was reported that practical measures have been taken to implement the decision of general mobilization and general alarm, activating human and reserve mobilization channels, organizing reception centers, and assigning various entities to begin executing their assigned tasks.
