Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has warned against the risks of responding to suspicious messages and links, as part of its support for the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign aimed at enhancing financial awareness, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Kuwait and the Kuwait Bankers Association.

In a statement, KFH noted that one of the methods used in online fraud involves sending a message containing a malicious link that prompts the customer to click on it to access a specific website or to vote in a poll. Once the link is clicked, the customer’s device is compromised, allowing attackers to access and exploit their data for malicious purposes.

The bank emphasized reminding customers that it will never request their personal information via email, text messages, or phone calls. Therefore, customers should avoid responding and sharing their information with such entities, as these are fraudulent attempts designed to obtain banking details in order to steal money or personal data.

Regarding the protection of bank accounts, KFH has provided important advice to customers, such as not saving confidential information like bank card numbers or PINs on mobile phones, refraining from sharing one-time passwords (OTPs) with anyone, and logging out of the bank’s application or website immediately after completing a transaction.
