Ferran Torres Leaves Spain Camp Due to Ankle Pain

Spanish Paris Saint-Germain striker Ferran Torres left his national team camp to return to France for treatment after suffering from an injury to his left ankle, the Spanish Football Federation announced on Friday.
The federation stated in a press release that it allowed the new PSG striker to leave the camp, where he had been experiencing pain in his left ankle for several days, in order to “prioritize his recovery.”
The young Real Madrid forward Carlos Espí will replace Torres, who scored the winning goal in the 2026 World Cup final this summer, in the upcoming Nations League matches against the Czech Republic and Croatia.
To avoid any potential conflict, the Spanish federation confirmed that its medical staff “has remained in constant contact” with PSG’s medical team since the start of the international break.
The 26-year-old forward, who started the season strongly with the capital club (scoring seven goals in all competitions, including four in the league), will undergo additional tests in France, the Spanish federation confirmed to Agence France-Presse.
