The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Kuwait, Dr. Arsen Arakelian, affirmed the depth of Kuwaiti-Armenian relations, expressing his country’s pride in the distinguished ties linking it to Kuwait and the mutual trust that forms the foundation of a growing partnership between the two nations.

During a ceremony hosted by the embassy to mark the National Day of the Republic of Armenia, attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Hamad Al-Mashaan, numerous officials, heads of diplomatic missions, and members of the Armenian community, Arakelian praised Kuwait’s prominent role on the regional and international stages in promoting the values of peace and dialogue, supporting efforts to resolve conflicts through peaceful means, and its humanitarian efforts in providing aid to areas affected by conflicts and disasters.

He stated that Armenia appreciates Kuwait’s firm and supportive stance toward efforts to enhance peace and stability in the South Caucasus, reaffirming his country’s rejection of any approach based on resolving conflicts by force, its commitment to the principle of the rule of law in international relations, and its advocacy for addressing conflicts through political and diplomatic means.

The ambassador noted that both countries are moving toward clear steps to uncover new potential for cooperation between their governments, pointing to the holding of the first business forum between Armenian and Kuwaiti entrepreneurs last January, hosted by the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, coordinated by the Armenian Embassy in Kuwait and in collaboration with the Kuwaiti Embassy in Armenia.

He explained that the forum represented an important milestone in the trajectory of commercial and economic relations between the two countries, highlighting meetings held with members of the Kuwaiti government, government institutions, commercial enterprises, and private investment firms to explore cooperation opportunities in various sectors.

Arakelian revealed that discussions are currently underway with the Kuwaiti side regarding the possibility of reconvening sessions of the joint Kuwaiti-Armenian governmental committee, while welcoming the participation of a delegation of Kuwaiti businessmen in the second edition of the business forum between the two countries.

On the economic front, Arakelian outlined the developments Armenia has witnessed in recent years, noting that his country has succeeded in diversifying its international economic partnerships and enhancing its attractiveness as a tourist, cultural, and investment destination.

He pointed out that the information technology and software sector has become one of the fastest-growing sectors and a cornerstone of the national economy, highlighting that the number of technology companies in Armenia has increased more than twelvefold since 2018.

He also mentioned the implementation or rehabilitation of approximately 5,000 kilometers of roads between 2018 and 2026, which has contributed to improving internal connectivity and enhancing regional development.

Arakelian commended the launch of modern artificial intelligence factories and data centers operating with “Blackwell NVIDIA” technologies, with investment estimates reaching $7 billion, calling on interested Kuwaiti institutions to participate in this development through investment and cooperation.

The Armenian ambassador emphasized that both countries have significant potential to enhance and expand cooperation, particularly in the fields of trade, tourism, science, education, modern technologies, student exchange programs, sports, and culture. He stressed the importance of activating high-level reciprocal visits and strengthening coordination between governmental committees, sectoral bodies, and business delegations, thereby contributing to opening new horizons for partnership between the two nations.
