The future of Norwegian striker Erling Haaland with English club Manchester City has entered a new phase of speculation, following reports that La Liga champions Barcelona are considering a move to sign the towering forward.
According to a report published by Football 365, Barcelona has begun formulating a plan to act for Haaland next summer, with talk of a potential offer worth up to £130 million.
The report directly links Haaland’s future to the outcome of Manchester City’s case in the English Premier League, noting that the player has also been linked in previous reports with Spanish club Real Madrid and Arsenal, the English league champions.
As for the talk of a move to Barcelona, it remains at this stage a potential plan or offer attributed to sources in the transfer market, rather than an official agreement between the two clubs. Neither Barcelona nor Manchester City has announced the completion of a deal or the submission of an official offer at that figure.
Former Spanish international Gaizka Mendieta also spoke about the possibility of Haaland moving to Barcelona or Real Madrid, suggesting that the Catalan club’s style of play might suit the Norwegian striker’s game, according to the same report.
