Gulf Air: Postponement of 'Transit' Service Activation Based on Civil Aviation Authority Request
Jazeera Airways announced that, in response to a request from the Kuwait Civil Aviation Authority to postpone the activation of the connecting passenger (transit) service at Kuwait International Airport, the airline regrets informing its passengers that it will not proceed with launching this service and is deferring the resumption of these flights through the Jazeera Terminal 5 (T5) until further notice. The airline also apologizes to its valued passengers whose travel plans have been affected by this decision, and will fully refund their ticket costs or allow them to change their travel dates without any additional fees.
In a statement issued today, Wednesday, the airline noted that since March 2026, airlines operating through major airports in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the wider region have gradually resumed transit passenger services, culminating in the full resumption of these operations today.
It added, “We believe that resuming these flights through Kuwait benefits passengers, supports the markets we serve, and strengthens Kuwait’s regional and international connectivity, while contributing to the expansion of services available at Kuwait International Airport, thereby reinforcing its position as a key air transport hub.”
The airline continued, “We fully recognize that resuming these services requires coordination with the Civil Aviation Authority. We will continue to work closely with the Authority to support its efforts to complete preparations for the resumption of connecting and transit flight operations through Jazeera Terminal 5 (T5).”
It concluded, “We reiterate our commitment to supporting Kuwait’s aviation sector, enhancing air connectivity, and expanding travel options for our passengers. We will announce the date for the resumption of connecting and transit flights as soon as it is determined. We thank our passengers for their patience, understanding, and continued trust in Jazeera Airways.”
