Meteorology Department: Chances of weak, scattered rain on Friday.. thunderstorms on Sunday

The Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Derrar Al-Ali, stated that the country is experiencing a drop in temperatures, with weak chances of scattered rain expected on Friday, and occasional thunderstorms on the upcoming Sunday.

Al-Ali told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country will be affected by an extension of the monsoon low-pressure system, accompanied by a hot and humid air mass. Winds will be variable in direction, shifting to light to moderate southeasterly breezes that will intensify at times, causing sea waves to rise to more than six feet.

He forecast a relative decrease in maximum temperatures, ranging between 40 and 43 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will range between 24 and 27 degrees Celsius across most parts of the country.

He added that chances of rain will be weak and scattered starting from Friday, with occasional thunderstorms on Sunday. Generally, the weather will be hot and relatively humid, especially along the coasts during the day, and will turn warm to moderate at night.

He noted there is a possibility of fog forming on Saturday evening until Sunday morning, urging citizens and residents to follow the weather bulletin through the Department’s official website, its application, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
