Ministry of Education Organizes First Awareness Meeting for Parents of Gifted Students
The Ministry of Education, represented by the Gifted Students Office, held the first informational meeting for parents of gifted students for the 2026-2027 academic year yesterday, Monday, at the Ministry’s General Diwan theater. The event was part of the Ministry’s strategy to care for gifted students, develop their capabilities, and prepare a generation of future leaders capable of creativity and innovation.
The meeting was chaired by Acting Head of the Gifted Students Office, Bader Al-Sharhan, and Acting Head of the Discovery and Evaluation Department, Dr. Saham Al-Rabia, alongside Acting Head of the Awareness and Development Department, Bader Al-Shatti. A large number of parents of students selected to attend gifted schools attended the event.
Acting Head of the Gifted Students Office, Bader Al-Sharhan, clarified that the meeting aimed to familiarize parents with the nature of study at gifted schools, outline the academic and technical aspects and regulations governing education, and explain the services provided by the Ministry of Education to this group of students.
He added that the meeting included an explanation of the enrichment curricula adopted at gifted schools, which feature programs and activities that differ from those offered in general education schools, tailored to the abilities and educational needs of gifted students.
Al-Sharhan noted that the meeting provided an opportunity for direct communication with parents, allowing them to ask questions and share observations, particularly regarding student schedules and the teaching methods used at gifted schools. He emphasized the importance of continuous partnership and communication between families, schools, and the Ministry to achieve the project’s intended goals.
Al-Sharhan commended the efforts of various sectors within the Ministry of Education and their cooperation in implementing the gifted schools project, expressing his gratitude and appreciation to all entities and teams that contributed to launching the project and supporting its programs, thereby enhancing the Ministry’s efforts to identify, nurture, and develop national talents.
For their part, several parents of students admitted to gifted schools expressed their happiness with this initiative, praising the Ministry of Education’s attention to this group of students and the educational and enrichment programs provided to them, which contribute to developing their talents and capabilities. Parents stressed the importance of continuing such informational meetings and maintaining direct communication with the Ministry, wishing their children continued success and excellence, and hoping they continue their educational journey in an environment that fosters creativity, distinction, and innovation.
