Kuwait participated today, Monday, in the seventeenth meeting of the Arab Ministers of Finance Council, held in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi. The Kuwaiti delegation was led by Undersecretary Asil Al-Munaifi, representing Minister of Finance Dr. Yaqoub Al-Rafai, and included several ministry officials.
The meeting discussed a number of economic and financial issues of common interest, most notably the state of public finances in Arab countries, fiscal diagnostics and policies, as well as opportunities for leveraging artificial intelligence in tax administration and sustainable financing to achieve sustainable infrastructure. It also reviewed the latest developments in the implementation of tax decisions concerning Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), and Arab countries’ positions vis-à-vis the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.
Kuwait’s participation underscores its commitment to strengthening Arab financial and economic cooperation, exchanging expertise and experiences in confronting economic and financial challenges, and supporting joint efforts aimed at achieving economic stability and sustainable growth in the Arab region.
