The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement on Monday evening that, in line with directives from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah, to enhance security cooperation and exchange expertise with the friendly Republic of Turkey, Major General Al-Wahib, accompanied by a delegation, visited the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Centers under Turkey’s Ministry of Justice. During the visit, he reviewed the key modern systems and technologies employed to develop the operational framework and improve operational and security efficiency. He was received by Director General Celbi Yilmaz and several officials.
The Deputy Minister also reviewed the rehabilitation and training programs designed for inmates, which encompass professional and behavioral aspects aimed at developing their skills and strengthening their capacities, thereby facilitating their positive reintegration into society after serving their sentences, and reinforcing a reform and rehabilitation approach alongside security considerations.
