Ministry of Industry honors winners of the seventh edition of the Amir's Award for Industrial Excellence
Al-Marzouq: Industry is a fundamental pillar for building a diversified and sustainable economy; Al-Jahdali: “Industrial Excellence” is a continuous journey toward a more efficient and competitive industry
The representative of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, Minister of Economic Affairs and Investment and Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry, Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq, affirmed that the industrial sector constitutes a fundamental pillar in building a diversified and sustainable economy, through enhancing local production, raising the competitiveness of Kuwaiti products, and creating quality opportunities for national talents, in line with the aspirations of the State of Kuwait.
Al-Marzouq, in a speech delivered during the ceremony of the seventh edition of the Amir’s Award for Industrial Excellence, stated that the Amir’s patronage of the award reflects the leadership’s commitment to supporting the national industry and enhancing its role in the development process.
He clarified that the Amir’s Award for Industrial Excellence embodies these aspirations by motivating enterprises and entrepreneurs to improve their performance, adopt best practices, and consolidate a culture of excellence and innovation within the Kuwaiti industrial sector.
He congratulated the winning factories and entrepreneurs of the seventh edition, hoping that this achievement would serve as a catalyst for further development and that their experiences would serve as inspiring national models. He expressed his gratitude to the Public Authority for Industry, the organizers of the award, the judging committees, all participants, and everyone who contributed to the success of the seventh edition.
For his part, Shamlan Al-Jahdali, Director General of the Public Authority for Industry, affirmed in a speech during the ceremony that the industrial sector is a fundamental pillar in diversifying the national economy and enhancing the competitiveness of Kuwaiti products, pointing out the Authority’s continued efforts to provide an environment conducive to growth and development, in alignment with the State of Kuwait’s development directions.
Al-Jahdali stated that the Amir’s Award for Industrial Excellence reflects the Authority’s orientation toward consolidating a culture of excellence and encouraging industrial enterprises to develop their performance and adopt best practices. He noted that the importance of the award extends beyond honoring winners, serving as a platform for evaluation, continuous improvement, and identifying opportunities for development and enhancing efficiency.
He explained that reaching the seventh edition of the award confirms its success and the continuity of its mission in supporting the Kuwaiti industrial sector. He noted that the Authority took care in this edition to develop the award’s criteria to keep pace with modern concepts of organizational excellence, based on the American Baldrige model for excellence, while emphasizing key areas for the future of industry, foremost among them being sustainability, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.
He pointed out that participation in the award reflects a genuine desire among industrial enterprises to develop and strive for higher levels of efficiency, commending the efforts of all participants, judging team members, award organizers, and everyone who contributed to the success of the seventh edition.
Al-Jahdali affirmed that the recognition represents an appreciation of the results and efforts achieved by enterprises and entrepreneurs, and serves as a motivation to continue working and innovating. He stressed that “excellence is not a destination we reach, but a continuous journey toward a more efficient and competitive industry.”
He stated that the Authority will continue to support initiatives that contribute to the development of the Kuwaiti industrial sector and enhance its competitiveness, looking forward to the award’s continued role in highlighting outstanding industrial models and consolidating a culture of continuous improvement, thereby contributing to building a more prosperous industrial future for the State of Kuwait.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the industrial enterprises that passed the evaluation stages and won the Amir’s Award for Industrial Excellence in its seventh edition were honored. Minister Al-Marzouq also received a commemorative shield on behalf of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad.
In a related development, the Kuwait Dairy Company and the Kuwaiti-Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries Company won in the Food and Pharmaceutical Industries sector category, while the National Company for Chemical and Petrochemical Industries won in the Chemical and Petrochemical Industries sector category.
In the Metal Industries sector category, Kuwaiti Kirby Modern Buildings Company won, also receiving an honorable award for Environmental Management and Sustainability. Meanwhile, Gulf Group for Cables and Electrical Industries received an honorable award for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence.
In the Industrial Innovator category, Kuwaiti Industrial Gases for General Trading and Contracting took first place, while Yousef Nasser Al-Mutairi from Nasser Al-Mutairi and Sons for General Trading and Contracting secured second place.
The award also honored qualifying industrial establishments across its various categories, in recognition of their efforts to achieve excellence in institutional performance. These include Anjaly for Import and Export and Agency on Commission, the First Company for Iron Manufacturing, Sadir Company for General Trading and Contracting, and Madad Pak for Cardboard Box and Paper Bag Manufacturing.
