The Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday the apprehension of several wanted individuals and violators, and the issuance of 432 traffic violations, during an extensive security campaign carried out by the Capital Governorate Security Directorate in cooperation with the Kuwait Municipality and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition.
The ministry clarified that the campaign resulted in the arrest of 72 wanted individuals for absconding cases, 53 violators of the residency law, 19 criminal wanted persons, four wanted individuals for debt, 16 casual laborers, and one person involved in a forgery case concerning official documents.
It added that the campaign included setting up checkpoints, seizing cases involving the possession of alcohol, seizing a wanted vehicle for judicial impoundment, apprehending a street vendor, removing abandoned vehicles, and closing an unlicensed men’s salon, in coordination with the Kuwait Municipality.
The ministry noted that in Failaka Island, the campaign led to the apprehension of 11 individuals transporting and selling fish using vehicles and methods that did not meet regulatory requirements, in cooperation with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, as well as the arrest of seven individuals in possession of four hunting firearms.
