Meetings of the Amir's Representative... Economy, Technology, and Development
The representative of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, continued his meetings in New York over the past two days, combining efforts to strengthen political ties with expanding economic, technological, and humanitarian partnerships.
During these engagements, the Amir’s representative met with Scott Strazik, Chief Executive Officer of GE Vernova, the global energy company, and his accompanying delegation, at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York, on the sidelines of the high-level week of the eighty-first session of the UN General Assembly.
The meeting reviewed existing cooperation between Kuwait and the global company, as well as ways to enhance the partnership in developing energy projects and improving the efficiency of power generation plants. It also discussed the latest developments at the GE Technology Center in Kuwait, which celebrated its tenth anniversary last year, emphasizing the importance of human capital development and investing in national competencies through knowledge transfer and capacity building, thereby contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy and supporting the achievement of Kuwait’s Vision 2035 objectives.
The Amir’s representative also met with Volkan Bozkurt, Advisor to the Board of Directors of Limak Holding, and Ebru Ozdemir, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Limak Holding. The discussion covered the latest updates on major construction and development projects being implemented by the company in Kuwait, alongside an overview of its programs aimed at developing and training national talent through knowledge transfer and capacity building.
In a third meeting, the Amir’s representative received Francis Desouza, Chief Executive Officer of AI Scale, a global company, and his accompanying delegation. The talks explored prospects for joint cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence applications, big data, and digital transformation, and reviewed ways to leverage advanced technology solutions to support and develop Kuwait’s vital government and economic sectors, as well as to prepare national cadres and enhance their capabilities in these areas.
Additionally, His Highness the Crown Prince received Filippo Grandi, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting reviewed the close cooperative relations and humanitarian partnership between Kuwait and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, and discussed ways to strengthen humanitarian response and alleviate the suffering of refugees and displaced persons worldwide.
