Kuwait Basket defeats Al-Ittihad in the West Asia Eight Finals

Kuwait Club secured a valuable 105-97 victory over Saudi Al-Ittihad on Saturday evening, in the opening match of their campaign in Group 1 of the West Asia Basketball League “Wasl” Final Eight, hosted by Lebanese club Al-Hakmeh and running until October 4 next year.

“The Whites” will play their second match against Lebanese champions Al-Riyadi Beirut, holders of the title in the past two seasons, while Al-Ittihad will face Indian team Sikkim Railways on Monday.

Matches in Group 2 begin on Sunday, with Saudi Al-Ahli taking on Qatari Al-Arabi, and Iranian team Shahrdari Gorgan facing host club Al-Hakmeh.

Teams in each group compete in a single round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the semi-finals. The finalists will be determined before the tournament concludes with the crowning of the 2026 “Wasl” champion.
